St. Louis Music Transfers North American Distribution of Tomasi Flutes to J.L. Smith & Co.

Tomasi flutes distribution update

St. Louis, MO – February 2, 2026 – Effective February 2, 2026, St. Louis Music (SLM) will no longer serve as the North American distributor of Tomasi Flutes.

North American distribution responsibility for Tomasi Flutes has transitioned to J.L. Smith & Co. This change applies across the United States and Canada.

Dealers should direct Tomasi Flutes purchasing and account inquiries through J.L. Smith & Co. beginning with all new orders placed after the effective date.

St. Louis Music thanks dealers and partners for their support of Tomasi Flutes and remains focused on providing world-class service across its portfolio of brands.

Researchers have discovered archaeological evidence of musical instruments in many parts of the world. One disputed artifact (the Divje Babe flute) has been dated to 67,000 years old, but consensus solidifies around artifacts dated back to around 37,000 years old and later. Artifacts made from durable materials or constructed using durable methods, have been found to survive. As such, the specimens found cannot be irrefutably placed as the earliest musical instruments.
